BOXERS’ PRE SHOW FAQ
We’re almost there, it’s the night before the big day… here is our quick checklist to help you prepare.
What time should I arrive?
The club will be open for boxers to arrive from 11am. If you want your hands wrapped, please arrive as early as possible, even if your fight is not on until later. We have to get 32 boxers signed-in and checked off with the medics, allow plenty of time, no one is going to have a good fight if they’re stressed or rushing around.
Hands wrapped, you say?
Yup, we are offering professional hand-wrapping for just £20. Treat yourself, go pro. Because you’re worth it.
What do I need to bring with me?
You must bring any outstanding ticket money and an update on your fundraising total. Oh, and don’t forget to bring a CD of your walk-on music, clearly labelled with track number and your name. Come and find either Vicky or Neil backstage with these and we can get you signed in.
Oops, I forgot to sort out a CD…
If you’re really quick, send a youtube link to email@example.com If not, speak to Neil tomorrow, he has a selection on CD for you to choose from.
So, I've got my headguard, my gloves…
Erm, yeah, they’re the two bits of kit you don’t need – we provide headguard and gloves for your bout, along with your vest.
So that's me sorted then..?
Hold up, we know you’re chomping at the bit to get into the ring; but don’t forget to bring the following: boots/trainers, shorts, gum shield, and hand wraps / groin guard if required. Please also bring a small sports towel or hand towel for your corner.
Please bring your own food and snacks. It can be a long day backstage, especially if you’re on in the latter half of the show. It isn’t always easy to nip out and get supplies. We will have a supply of water both backstage and ringside for you, but food is not provided.
We'll hide the boring stuff here
Yes, we’ve said it countless times, but do not forget to bring valid photographic ID – it’s the club rules and if they don’t let you in, it’s gonna put a real downer on your day. That’ll get chalked up as a loss.
And that's it
You’ve worked bloody hard to be here, now all that’s left is to go and enjoy it. The bars are open all day, if you’re on early, please please hang around and cheer on your team mates; let’s make this one a show to remember.
